The influence of ready-made tools on students’ learning by modelling with differential equations systems

چکیده
This article discusses the role played by tool when students learn about differential equations systems (DE) modelling. The discussion was based on a three-case sub-study of an ongoing study group-reports from experienced mathematics teachers participating in masters’ program education. In teaching sequences, setting scene for students’ modelling authentic problems DE, it indispensable to include variety digital resources such as databanks and software numerical solutions, graphical representations, some sorts simulations. Apps with simulations commonly used DE models are widespread internet, them user-friendly elaborated degree that justify use term ready-made tools. issue addressed this is whether tools constitute shortcuts process thereby obstacles their learning mathematics. For analysis, direction make distinction between expressive explorative modelling, respectively. Direction proved useful analysis not only relation but also more generally. line author’s previous research, conceptualised terms emergent detected textual written reports. gave new insight into processes form patterns interplay seems be pivotal designs sequences general particularly case due dependence resources.
